The combination of NVIDIA and ATI in One Motherboard

MSI is known as an innovative manufacturing in creating the various features of its latest computer hardware. This time MSI introduces multi-GPU technology, the Hydra Engine, the latest motherboard, the Big Bang Fuzion. Hydra Engine allows the use of NVIDIA and ATI graphics cards within one system (cross-vender GPU).

For information, before the Hydra Engine was introduced, the use of cross-vender GPU only allows the use of NVIDIA graphics cards to run PhysX. At the Big Bang Fuzion MSI motherboard, graphics card NVIDIA and ATI will cooperate in running 3D rendering. In contrast to the method of Split Frame Rendering (SLI) and Alternate Frame Rendering (CrossFire), Hydra Base Object Rendering Engine using or also called Real Time Distributed Processing (RTDP), where each object in 3D image or video will be rendered by one of the graphics cards and other objects were rendered by the second graphics card. The process of division of labor is governed by a 33MHz processor embedded on the motherboard MSI Big Bang Fuzion.

Here are some advantages to be gained by using the Big Bang Fuzion MSI motherboard:

  • Provides application scalability Pls More Than one graphics card is installed.
  • Generically work for latest games with no involvement of the game developers
  • Allow non-identical GPUs to work in a system, thereby avoiding the need to replace both graphics cards Pls one is faulty or outdated.
  • Allow users to choose Their favorite GPU for the performance and price
  • Enable choice for future system upgrades. Consumers Should not have to scrap Their current graphics technology, or be locked-in to Their existing vendors Pls They are looking for an add-on to Their existing system.
  • Eliminate the need for special or proprietary connectors

An interesting solution. Now to use multi-GPU system, you do not need to use graphics cards from the same vendor. It does not even need to use an identical series. You still have the graphics card ATI HD 4000 series, now can you attach it with one graphics card ATI HD 5000 series or NVIDIA graphics card.
